I was inspired
to pursue a career in art at a young age. I learned the craft "old
school" (before computers) when emphasis was placed on concept and
theory. I obtained my BFA in Graphic Design
from BGSU in 1985 and began my career in Ft. Myers, FL.
During my first few years as a professional designer, I had the
privilege of working with several outstanding mentors who shared
their invaluable real-world experiences from the industry in Denver and
New York. I was encouraged to "go out on my own" and began a
free-lance business. In 1988, I returned to Defiance and established YDGraphics.
As my business grew, it evolved from a one-man studio to a hustling
small business with a staff of several designers, and back - It's
just me again. This means I can devote my time to doing what I
love - designing - and offer my clientele the advantage of my full attention on
every detail of every project. I
am committed to offering my clientele well-designed and effective visual communications.
